Wednesday June 20th

It was really refreshing to be able to sleep in for the first time in awhile! I did some reading in the morning for class and then went to the farmer's market with some of my roommates. All the vegetables and fruit are so good! I have to say, the strawberries here may be small but they are soooo incredibly sweet. Definitely comparable to Watsonville berries which is a huge statement. Sam and I bought some local wine that is in a plastic bottle! So weird. For 1.5L we paid like $4!

We then headed to school to meet up with some people from our program to go on a trip to the Starhov Monastery and brewery. It was extremely muggy today which was quite unbearable on a crowded tram with smelly people...The monastery was beautifully decorated and the library connected to it had a huge variety of preserved sea creatures, it was really cool! The monastery also has a brewery (kind of thought that was hypocritical of monks?) which started in the 1300s when the monastery was built. We got a tour of the brewery and were able to try a couple samples! I thought the samples would be pretty small but they were like full glasses...ridiculous but awesome.

Back at home now, reading lots of excerpts for class tomorrow. Class at 9am wouldn't be as painful if I didn't have a commute to school. Can't wait for what the weekend has in store! My roommates and I are going to cook a traditional Czech dinner on Friday with food from our farmer's market. I hope it turns out well! It's going to be nice to have a relaxing 4 day weekend.

5 weeks exactly till I fly home and almost 2 months till I'm back in Ann Arbor...where has the time gone?

Hope you're all doing well!

Sbohem,
Whit
