I've arrived in the motherland! I'm partly Swedish so I'm going to count it.
Last night my roommates and I did a pub crawl...in hindsight I shouldn't have done it before having to wake up at 8am! I had to take the metro and a bus to get to the airport (free with my transportation pass) which took around 45 mins. I swear the bus driver was trying to make the ride as uncomfortable as he could make it. Airport security was nothinggg like it is in the US, so much more lax it was weird! And scary!
When I arrived in Stockholm I had to take a train to get to the city center. The train was supppper nice and wifi! I took a taxi to our hotel and met up with my cousins, it's so great to see them! It's nice to see some familiar faces and get away from the people in my program for a bit and be able to relax rather than plan a whole trip.
We walked around Sodermalm, a bohemian part of the city and got dinner. Just walking around, the city is amazing and beautiful! Cities on the water have a certain beauty to them. Off to bed, so tired!
Can't wait to see more of the city tomorrow though it may rain a lot.
Weird that it's still kind of light out and it's almost midnight! I didn't really believe it when people said it would stay light so late. It really trips you up cause you think it's a lot earlier when it's actually pretty late.
Love and miss you all. Wish the rest of my fam was here to experience this together!
Sbohem,
Whit
